Information we collect and how it's used
Our registration form collects contact information (e.g. name, email address) and financial information (e.g. credit card number and billing address). Contact information is used to get in touch with customers when necessary. In the future, this may also be used to send occasional news about our service, but no more than once a month. Financial information is used to qualify new accounts and to bill for services, but we never charge anything to a credit card without the customer's explicit permission.
Spiderphone will not sell, trade, or disclose your contact or financial information to any third parties (except as necessary in order to qualify accounts and bill for services).
Your computer's IP address is logged by our web server and may be used for security and system administration purposes, but it will not be used to determine any additional personal information about you.
When available, we capture the caller-id of all participants that dial into conference calls so that we can display this number to web-enabled participants, and we also allow on-line participants to label each conference call leg with a name, organizatio and email address. This information (usage data) is stored along with time and duration of each call so that we can generate informative, detailed billing statements that you are able to check online. Spiderphone will not sell, trade, or disclose to third parties any record of these phone calls unless required to by law or criminal investigation.
Unlike most other conference call companies, we do not monitor calls unless you make special arrangements with us in advance, and in this case the Spiderphone employee monitoring your call would appear on the web pages like any other participant. We never record or monitor any conference calls without an explicit request from the host.
We request that comments about our service be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. These comments and suggestions may be shared throughout the company and may also be shared with people outside the company. Before we disclose any email feedback message to a third party, however, we will first remove all identifying information such as contact information, financial information, and telephone numbers that might be included in the message.
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of information under our control.
- Personal information that you submit on our web site is encrypted using SSL before being transmitted over the Internet. This includes your name, credit card number, conference access codes, phone numbers and names of any other conference call participants.
- To access certain areas of the website, you will need to submit a password. Passwords are created by submitting registration information including your name, email address and credit card data. Your password is encrypted before being stored in our database using the RSA Data Security, Inc. MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm. This means that we can not tell you what your password is. If you forget your password, you will need to reset it with the same credit card number that you used to open the account.
- Our web site is protected by state of the art firewall and packet-filtering technology. Databases machines with personal customer information are located behind an additional layer of network security with access restricted to a limited number of authorized Spiderphone personnel.
- We use CyberCash to process secure online orders. CyberCash maintains separate privacy and security policies which can be evaluated at http://www.cybercash.com.
How to access or correct personal information
You can review or change information in your account at any time by clicking on the Login link on our home page.
Spiderphone allows selected other companies to resell our service as their own. When offered by a reseller, web pages are clearly labeled with the reseller's brand, and they are not under the "www.spiderphone.com" URL. If you use Spiderphone service through one of our resellers, you will register and open your account with the reseller, the reseller will bill you for the service, and we must share your usage data with this reseller. This only occurs when used through the reseller's branded site, however. If you don't want your usage data shared with a reseller, you may avoid this by using our service directly through the Spiderphone branded site.
Spiderphone joins the industry in recognizing that children, including young teens, may not be able to make informed choices about personal information requested online. Accordingly, Spiderphone does not target children or teenagers younger than eighteen years of age for collection of information online. Spiderphone does not solicit or collect customer identifiable information targeted at children and teenagers under eighteen, and no part of our web site is structured to attract children under eighteen.
